History of Source Cable
Source Cable Limited is a family owned business that's been in operation in Hamilton since 1974. Source Cable started with a handful of "over-the-air" Canadian and U.S. broadcast television channels. Today we offer over 420 television and audio channels. We also offer 108 HDTV channels, On Demand, Pay-Per-View, the Super Sports Package and Premium Movie channels. As they say...something for everyone!
In 2000, we introduced High Speed Internet and over 80% of our customers now enjoy this reliable and ultra fast service. In 2005 we launched our Home Phone services, where customers can save over $200 per year. It's not surprising that 63% of them have now switched from the competition to Source Home Phone. In 2009 we started Source Security Services for residents and businesses in the greater Hamilton and Burlington areas. Today we provide security to homes and businesses in Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Burlington, Oakville, St. Catharines, Niagara.....all over Southern Ontario! Like our Internet and Home Phone, it's been a great success to date!
What’s next?
Well, it's safe to say we'll continue to add new services and improve our overall technical performance. We now offer 108 High Definition Television channels including 56 HD Basic services. Our new On Demand server that has tripled our capacity to up to 14,000 hours and has quadrupled our bandwidth. Basically this means we can now deliver far more On Demand content in High Definition. We have a Internet service, Pro 50, that offers speeds at 50 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up, starting at only $65.99/MO. And unlike the competition or other cable companies, Source doesn't have additional usages fees or "Bit Caps" for our Internet services.
